Student assistant for technology & geopolitics (m/f/d)

Aufgabenbeschreibung:

About the project:
Our work on ‘technology and geopolitics’ analyzes the global semiconductor ecosystem to better understand its relevance for and potential impact on Europe’s industrial competitiveness and technological dependency on foreign countries and national security. The goal is to identify Europe’s position within those supply chains and develop policy advice to address current and future economic interdependencies as well as security risks.

About the job:
We are looking for a highly-motivated student assistant (12 hours per week) starting in July. As a member of our team, you will contribute to
  • support us in qualitative research on technical and geopolitical issues related to semiconductors
  • support us in the preparation of publications in English
  • collect and process quantitative data (basic knowledge of Excel is sufficient)
  • take part in meetings, help shape the project and contribute your own ideas

Erwartete Qualifikationen:

Your profile:
  • You are currently enrolled at a German university or university of applied sciences (remote work possible).
  • You are based in Germany.
  • You are extremely interested in digital technologies and their influence on politics, economics, and society.
  • You enjoy an analytical deep-dive into emerging technologies, value chains and geopolitics.
  • You are confident to structure your own research and work independently.
  • You have an easy time breaking things down and explaining complex mechanisms.
  • You can independently research English literature relevant to the project and prepare it for further analyses.
  • You are eager to work in a highly specialized team of experts and are willing to constantly test, question, and re-consider both our working hypotheses and your own through regular interaction and collaboration with us.
  • You enjoy being a part of a young and dynamic team.
